The Crusades
The crusades where wars during the 11th-16th century and where religiously motivated attacks on there cultures/religions. The crusades were based on Pope's abusing the power of religion to force people into following a movement. The first crusade led by Pope Urban the 2nd was fuelled by him starting a movement that all the believe in Christianity will restore access to holy places in Jerusalem. This caused many years of suffering and pain as the people who were forced into the movement died of hunger and thirst as they ventured for from across deserts. Many also died fighting against Muslims, Jews and other nomadic tribes. These crusades lasted many years a time and they are all motivated by the key factor of religion.
The outcome of these wars was mostly negative with many dead and injured. The religious out comes of the crusades was a negative influence of Christians by the Muslims and many doubts being raised as to whether Christian leader actually knew what they were doing. The crusades were a key point in time that helped develop the society we live in today and how it sees religion and laws are in place to ensure that things like this are prevented.
