The second in charge of each Constantine was called a Caesar. Constantine was forming an alliance with Diocletian though blood by allowing him to marry his daughter. When Constantine’s son Constantius had reign he had a vision of the sign of Greek leters Chr and ist and this made him find power though religion. He begun marking all of his soldiers shields with the mark of the cross and all other armies before him were defeated by this new power of the cross. MONASTERIES during the roman downfall
Monasteries were hidden places in near Rome that contained and spread the true Christian teachings. The reason monasteries were established was due to the corruption of Christianity by the Roman officials. The faith became corrupt as to get into high status positions you had to say you were a Christian. Many of the leaders that said they were Christians were not and caused the real Christians to leave the civilized Rome. The Christians that had left Rome then begun living in hidden monasteries where the Roman empire couldn't find them. In the monasteries the Christians stored and preserved the true Christian teachings.
When the Roman empire fell many people were disillusioned with faith and didn’t know what as right and wrong. At this time the true Christians came from the monasteries and begun preaching and spreading the true Christian beliefs. These Christians begun recruiting other people to faith and then it quickly spread. Many of the Monasteries still exist as they were protected
